Is there someone in your life that you are interested in but too scared to pursue? I’m not talking about just being attracted to them, because they are cute. No. I am referring to the person whose light conversation gives you butterflies. I am referring to the one who can make you smile when you are at your lowest. I am talking about that person in your life that you know the good and bad sides of them and still view them as a beautiful being. That person.
You know how much you care for them. You know the connection you have with them (although it’s only platonic right now) is one that is hard to find. So, what are you afraid of? Rejection? Are you scared they will say no? That is a possibility, but you can’t let your fear of rejection stop you from living your life and taking chances. We can’t be scared of rejection; we must be open to it. Even when we are rejected we still take something from the situation (I.e. a lesson).
So, smile a little more. Pay them more compliments than usual. Invite them out just the two of you. If they pull back and are hesitant, then you know how they feel. And that’s okay. Because guess what? If you met someone this wonderful and they are only meant to be your friend imagine how amazing the person God created for you is going to be! And you never know, they might be just as scared of rejection as you are. However, if you stand idly by and say nothing you will always wonder “what if.”
So, my challenge to you as you start a new week is to pursue something beautiful (in a mature way of course), and be open to what comes your way. You never know, it could end in your favor
